“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these” [Luke 18:16]
In Kids' Church we want to get to know Jesus and what he means in our lives. To be encouraged to believe in Jesus, to follow him, changing our lives to live the way he wants us to and to help others do the same."
In Term 3, 2008 we have been expressing our faith through creative ministry. Although usually we are in age groups / year levels, we chose to have a 'stage not age' program for Term 3 and will probably do this each year during the Term 3 school year.
Young people have chosen a variety of ways to express their faith in three week cycles. These creative pursuits have included the following: band; drama; papier mache; creative writing; film; singing & songwriting. Many of the children in Year 4-5 have realised that they are quite musical and we have joked that perhaps we could create a 'Christian Cat Empire' type band / sound for next term.
Come and join us on Sunday morning at Turramurra Ave from 9am - 10.20am. Families meet together for worship at 9am, then the children go out to various age activities:
Creche: 0-3 years in Colonnade Room
Preschool: in the Skylight Room
Kindergarten and Year 1: in the Garden Room
Primary: Years 2-5 in the Hall & Lounge
Junior High discipleship group: Years 6-8 in the Chapel
Generally, during Terms 1-2 and 4 our time together includes prayer, bible study, activities which may include art, drama or singing, and memory verses to keep us considering God's Word throughout the week. Year 6-8 are doing Priority One, a reflective programme designed to help kids make the transition from Primary School to High School.
